# Leadership Brief — 5-Min Sim Reset

**Audience:** CCO, CMO, DON, executive sponsor
**Date:** 2026-06-24
**Status:** Review draft; pending Nexus / CPI / risk / legal validation

## The Ask

Approve the reset of the 5-Minute Sim program to its original scope: brief, frequent, low-prep micro-sims anchored to one judgment point each, captured on a one-line proctor sheet, and read as a frontline trend signal.

## What Changed

The original pack grew beyond the reviewer's intended scope. This reset returns the deliverable to what was asked for and adds the data method the reviewer requested.

## What We Are Shipping

- One operating model pinned to a five-minute loop.
- One reusable sim template.
- Twenty single-point sims covering de-escalation, team and coverage, threshold and restraint, and treatment-plan continuity.
- One proctor data sheet (CSV) with date, sim, four Y/N checks, and staff participant names; no patient names or PHI.
- One trend method (two charts, one monthly rollup).
- One next-item for a future `/cco` or `$ cco` skill — not implemented in this pack.

## What This Program Does

- Creates frequent repetition of high-leverage judgment points.
- Gives the CCO a frontline signal on cadence, loop fidelity, and judgment gaps.
- Fits inside the existing training program without adding a formal education layer.

## What This Program Does Not Do

- It does not replace the existing training program.
- It does not measure patient outcomes directly.
- It does not generate a competency decision for any staff member.
- It does not introduce new clinical policy.

## The Resource Picture

- Proctor time: under 10 minutes per sim, including the proctor sheet entry.
- Participant time: 3-5 minutes per sim, on shift.
- Education lead time: under one hour per month to review the proctor sheet and refresh the sim bank.
- No new software, no new equipment, no new headcount.

## What We Need From Leadership

- Approval to run the pack through Nexus / CPI / risk / legal validation.
- Approval to pilot on one unit for one quarter before broader rollout.
- A named owner for the monthly rollup (unit educator or designee).

## Validation Boundaries

All sim content, data fields, and trend rules are pending Nexus / CPI / risk / legal validation. The pack is a review draft, not a deployed program.

## The Close

The scope is small on purpose. The repetition is the point. The data method is the part that lets the CCO see whether the repetition is happening, and where the judgment gaps are clustering. If the pilot works, the bank and the method scale. If it does not, the pack retires cleanly.
